illumia V-Face and Baby V-Face Lifts

What is It?

Facial thread lifts at illumia provide a subtle yet impactful enhancement to facial features. These procedures offer an immediate lift, addressing wrinkles, volumising hollow areas, and tightening sagging regions.

Our use of medical-grade Polydioxanone (PDO) threads, recognised for their durability and complete dissolvability, ensures a non-surgical approach. The Illumia Face and Baby Threads procedures aim to lift, tone, and stimulate collagen production for a dual lifting and plumping effect.

We offer both non-surgical thread lift in Singapore – regular Face Thread Lifts and Baby Thread Lifts, including 3D eye thread lift treatment, with minimal downtime. Discover which option aligns with your preferences by exploring further.

Which is For Me: Face and Baby Threads

Both our Face and Baby Thread Lift procedures use the medical-grade PDO threads. The differences lie in the length and endings of the threads: The Face Thread Lift uses longer cog threads, while the Baby Thread Lift uses shorter smooth threads.

Benefits of PDO Threads

We have chosen to use PDO threads for all our Thread Lift procedures at Illumia because of their long and proven track record–PDO threads have been used in all types of surgeries for the past 40 years and counting. They are 100% non-toxic and carry little risk of bacterial migration, inflammation, and protrusions. PDO threads are also hypoallergenic, significantly reducing the risk of infection and allergic reactions.

PDO cog threads are biodegradable and will dissolve after six to nine months. Other than physically lifting the targeted areas of the nose to your desired proportions thanks to the tiny barbs on the sutures, the PDO threads also stimulate collagen production as the body’s natural healing process. And as we all know, collagen does wonders to naturally plump out the skin for improved structure and texture.

The Thread Lift Experience

Non-surgical with maximum results, a thread lift can be done in 30 minutes or less. Your experience will begin on a gently reclining seat. Your doctor will disinfect the targeted areas on your face and apply a local anaesthetic to make the experience pain-free and comfortable. The threads will then be delivered into your face at specific points using a thin needle and cannula to gently adjust the placements for the lifts you want. You’re done!

Mild bruising and swelling in the next few days is to be expected, but your body will easily take care of that if you follow our easy-to-follow after-care guidelines well.

FAQs

Who is suitable for a Face or Baby Thread Lift?

The Illumia Face or Baby Thread Lift is best for people who:

  • Are in their early 30s to 50s and experiencing early signs of ageing
  • Have mild to moderate skin laxity
  • Cannot or do not want to undergo the knife for a traditional facelift

What should I avoid before undergoing a Face or Baby Thread Lift?

Some mild bruising after the Thread Lift procedure is expected as the threads are inserted into the skin. To speed up healing and minimise the bruising, our patients are advised to avoid the following:

  • Alcohol
  • Smoking
  • Any aspirin-based medications such as Ibuprofen, Neurofen, Naprosen/Naprogesic; anti-inflammatory medications such as Naprosyn; or blood-thinning medications such as Warfarin.

What results should I expect from a Face or Baby Thread Lift?

Once the bruising and mild swelling has gone down, you should expect to see a lifted and tightened face for a Face Thread Lift, and visibly smoother and volumised skin for a Baby Thread Lift procedure.

What is the downtime for a Face or Baby Thread Lift?

The bruising and swelling may stick around for up to five days.

Can I resume daily activities after my Face or Baby Thread Lift?

Work and most regular activities may be resumed immediately with minimal side effects. Common side effects include mild swelling and bruising, which usually subside within a week.

What are the after-care guidelines for my Face or Baby Thread Lift for a quick recovery?

To help speed up recovery of the bruising and swelling, and ensure that the threads are kept in place for best results, these guidelines are for you.

Do:

  • Take your pain medications and antibiotics
  • Keep your head elevated at a 45 degree angle when in bed using a pillow
  • Apply ice to reduce swelling
  • Get ample rest

Don’t:

  • Wash your face or hair in the first 12 hours
  • Apply facial products or make-up in the first 48 hours
  • Exercise vigorously or engage in any strenuous activity for up to two weeks
  • Consume alcohol or smoke for up to two weeks

Can I drink alcohol before or after my Face or Baby Thread Lift, and why?

You are strongly discouraged from drinking alcohol two weeks before and the month after your Face or Baby Thread Lift. Consuming alcohol will dehydrate your skin and may increase your blood pressure, both of which will slow down the healing process.

How often should I have a Face or Baby Thread Lift?

The PDO threads will organically dissolve in about six to nine months, but the boosted collagen production from the threads will help rejuvenate your skin naturally until a year post-procedure. For a continual lift, the best time to get a repeat Face or Baby Thread Lift is about nine to 12 months after the first treatment.
