Subcision

What is Subcision?

Subcision is an acne scar removal treatment that treats acne scars by releasing tight bands that anchor the scar tissue to deeper layers of skin. These bands form during acne inflammation and remain after healing, pulling the skin down and creating depressions. Subcision improves scar appearance by releasing these bands.

What Types of Acne Scars Can Be Treated?

This treatment is suitable for anyone experiencing various types of scars including – boxcar, icepick, rolling, and hypertrophic.

How Does Subcision Work?

During the subcision procedure, a small needle is inserted beneath the surface of the skin to release the fibrous bands causing the acne scar. This allows the scar tissue to elevate and become more level with the surrounding skin, reducing the appearance of them.

Subcision helps to improve the appearance of acne scars by promoting collagen production and encouraging the skin to regenerate. This results in smoother, more even skin texture over time.

Acne Scar Treatments After Subcision

After a subcision procedure, we’d recommend our patients to go for our PDRN and Magic Skin Boosters to promote wound healing and anti-ageing benefits. Over time, as your skin continues to heal, you may opt for dermal fillers to help fill up the space after releasing the build up scar tissues.
